CATCH THE SUN PAVILION

A playful addition to a small estate on the steep slopes of Cernobbio, the pavilion moves on circular tracks. Its various positions open up to near and distant views while treading lightly on the terraced grounds.  The construction is sparing yet full of surprises.

Assembled from prefabricated parts that mutually strengthen the envelope of the pavilion, but also reverse the familiar distinction between inner and outer lining, the pavilion adds a piece of intriguing machinery to a bucolic site.
